(Demonstrative Pronouns)

Demonstrative pronouns are used to point to specific things. English has four demonstrative pronouns, they are: ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’ and ‘those’.

هٰذَا, ج، هٰؤُلَاءِ

هٰذِهِ, ج، هٰؤُلَاءِ

ذٰلِكَ, ج، أُولٰئِكَ

تِلْكَ, ج، أُولٰئِكَ

what is this? – مَا هٰذَا؟

what is that? – مَا ذٰلِكَ؟
